Early Childhood Resources (Birth to Five)

Through our program guide you learned about the early childhood programs offered through Genesee Intermediate School District. We understand these programs may not fit the needs of all families. Below is a list of resources available throughout Genesee County that may offer you additional options to support your family’s individual needs.

Early On® Genesee County

Free early intervention services for infants and toddlers, three to five years of age, with developmental delay(s) and/or disabilities, and their families. Serving Flint and Genesee County.

Child Care Network (CCN)

Child Care Network (CCN) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the success of children, families and our community through quality child care education, advocacy and family support.

CCN has served the Michigan community by helping families find care, helping families pay for care, and helping early learning professionals provide quality child care. We serve children, families, and child care providers in the Southeastern Michigan counties of Branch, Genesee, Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe and Washtenaw.

Great Start Collaborative (GSC)

Resources to help families provide a great start for their children, prenatal to third grade. Includes opportunities to participate in a family coalition and in family activities and support services.

Great Start to Quality (GSQ)

Great Start to Quality is Michigan’s system, which sets the quality standards and evaluates the quality of early care and education programs. It is funded by the Department of Education. The Eastern Resource Center supports early childhood programs and families in Arenac, Bay, Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Saginaw, Sanilac, St. Clair and Tuscola counties. The Eastern Resource Center provides resources for Eastern Michigan child care providers and supports families with finding child care and preschool that meets their needs.

Great Start to Quality (GSQ)

Special Education

Genesee Intermediate School District's (GISD) Special Education services is comprised of professional and support staff members that provide educational programs and various support services to students with disabilities, their families, and local districts throughout Genesee County. Services for students age 3 and up, with developmental delay(s) and/or disabilities, and their families.
